Hi, I am Mrs. Coffman. I am a teacher at Cowell Elementary School. I love teaching especially computers and library skills. I was born in a little village in Italy. I came to the United States with my family when I was ten years old. I didn't know any English, but after a few years, I learned. Later, I decided to go to college to become a teacher.
Here is a picture of me when I was vacationing in Mexico.
An Article response from Scholastic News
I just read an article on Scholastic News. It's about a kitty who was lost and then found five years later thanks to a microchip placed under the skin of her body. The article was very emotional. The kitty lived in Colorado. When the owners lost her, they put up signs and posters of her everywhere. When she couldn't be found, they thought she must have been eaten by wild animals. It appears that somehow or maybe someone found her and took her to New York. She was later found by an animal shelter who found the microchip under her skin and were able to locate her Colorado family.
I loved this article. It reminds me of the cat I had a long time ago. It also makes me realize how wonderful technology is. Had it not been for the microchip, the kitty would never have been found. I imagine the Colorado family must have been very happy to hear the news. Also, since I live in Colorado, I wonder where they are now and what they are doing.
